The whole family moved to Saltaire near Bradford in 1919 and worked in textiles at the now famous Salt's Mill. However, some of the family dispersed. John Charles moved to the Isle of Wight as did James, Frank moved to Scarborough and then to, as it was then, Southern Rhodesia. Dorothy married and moved to New Zealand after WWII. Olive and Esther stayed in Saltaire as did my mum. Granddad James died in 1937 whilst Grandma Esther died in 1947 in March, a month after I was born so I never knew my maternal grandparents.
