  Note from Manfred Linder's data:- Owing to her very long life, many of her great-grandchildren have vivid recollections of this great-grandmother. One story has it that whenever she saw a great-grandchild she would give him/her a nickel. Another was that she was a very tiny woman, possibly due to shrinkage associated with old age Lived to be nearly 95. She and husband settled in Chicago from London in 1869-70, opening a furniture store on Blue Island Avenue which was later taken over by their oldest daughter and son-in-law. Later they operated a shoe store on Jackson Boulevard. At the time of her death she was living in the home of her youngest son, Joseph Simons.
