- There is debate about the birth of Michael Mackney / Michael Dawes
Lorna Holtom's family were under the impression that he was Michael Dawes.
George FH Mackney had supposedly left the family 4 years before Michael's birth.
My personal view is that the father was Nicholas Dawes, but was originally registered as Mackney as Kathleen was not yet married to Dawes [DS 08/0/2021]
There is a BMD entry for 1960
JAS 1960 Mackney, Michael W. Hartlepool 1A 1624 - Mother's maiden name: Penistone
There is also an entry for 1961
JAS 1961 Dawes, Michael W. Hartlepool 1A 1669 - Mother's maiden name: Penistone
